Homer Youth League

Homer Youth League is a summer baseball, softball, and tee ball league serving children in the Heritage School District. We are a not-for-profit organization that runs on the help from numerous area volunteers.


Homer Sports Commission

Currently we offer soccer (Prairie Fire Soccer Club), K-4 basketball, 5/6 girls and boys basketball, and 5/6 girls volleyball. Prairie Fire Soccer Club is a new soccer club serving boys and girls ages K-8 and based in Homer, IL. We enroll children from all surrounding communities.


Pack 42 Cub Scouts & Troop 42 Boy Scouts

Pack 42 Welcomes all boys. Meetings are usually help on Tuesdays evenings following the school calendars, with a variety of activities planned during the summer months.


Girl Scouts

Kindergarten-2nd grade troop meets at Homer UMC every other Monday at 6:00. Third grade troop meets at Homer UMC on the second Mondays at 4:00. I am currently looking for someone to lead the 4th-5th grade girls. Older troops vary their meeting days and times to fit sports schedules., 896-2480


Homer Community Improvement Association

As the name suggests, we are interested in improving the community by encouraging businesses, recreational opportunities and making Homer a place where people want to live and shop. New members are always welcome! Meeting are the first Thursday of the month and are held at the Village Hall. Email


Homer Historical Society

Homer has a very unique history and a group of passionate people that are working diligently to protect it! Much of Homer’s history was documented with over 1,000 glass plate negatives from 100 years ago. These images were recovered and painstakingly digitized. The history of the town was then thoroughly researched and documented into 2 volumes of the books that are available to purchase. The historical society is available for tours, and the research room is available the genealogist. Volunteers are always needed.



Homer Opera House (Creative Dramatic Workshop)

They are a small community theatre group in east central Illinois led by founder Robert Picklesimer, The Creative Dramatics Workshop brings a quality theatre experience to area residents. They have a primary focus on the growth and training of young people in theatre arts. Volunteers are needed in the continued renovation of the Opera House as well as the performances!


Home and Community Extension

The Illinois Association for Home and Community Education enhances the lives of individuals and families through quality educational programs and experiences encouraging responsible leadership and service to the community. Homer Bulk Cooking Club

We spend 3 hours chopping & frying to prepare bulk meals as a team. Each of us takes home 6 freezer meals along with extras to share in our community.


Homer Masonic Lodge

The Homer Masonic Temple is home to Homer Masonic Lodge No. 199, chartered in 1855 by the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge AF & AM of the State of Illinois.


Legion Auxiliary

The Auxiliary meets the second Monday of each month at the Village Hall Community Center, 7pm.  For more info contact Kim Graham 217-840-3392
